It’s Banned Books Week – an annual celebration of the freedom to read, and also a time to highlight the many books that have been targeted for banning and even burning through the years.
The wonderful YA Podcast Cast of Wonders is running a series of stories for Banned Books Week, between September 24th and September 30th. The theme this year:
Text Against Tyranny: the stories some would silence, and the power of literature, in all its forms, to enlighten humanity’s darkest hours.
Things kicked off yesterday with Sandra Odell’s fantastic “For”, read by Dagny Paul, and on Saturday, my story “The Wayfinder & His Sister” will appear on the show. In between then and now, you can tune in to Cast of Wonders every day for stories by several fabulous writers.
For more information on Banned Books Week, you can head over to BannedBooksWeek.org, or check out the list of banned and challenged classics at the Banned & Challenged Books website.
The best way to celebrate this week? That’s easy: read or listen to an audiobook of your choice, and check out Cast of Wonders.
