A writing update from my messy desk

This year has been a rather amazing experience for me as a writer. After self-publishing my collection of science fiction short stories ‘Odin’s Eye’ in March, I spent a few months translating, writing and editing poems for my collection of poetry ‘Cuts & Collected Poems 1989 – 2015’. It was self-published in November, and since then I’ve felt more inspired as a writer than I have in a very long time.

  • I recently completed two short stories (inspired by two photographs) for the next installment in the Mind’s Eye Series of anthologies – one is science fiction, the other… well… it’s fantasy. Sort of. I’ll leave it at that for now. Writing these two stories was so much fun, a very joyful experience that I hope translates into a good reading experience once the anthology is published!
  • I’ve also written another short story that came to me like a flash of lightning (can’t even remember when a story came to me so quickly and so fully imagined), inspired by one of Helle Gade’s artworks. This short story is very different from anything I’ve written before: it’s fantasy or horror, maybe… and I have a plan for this one. I will be submitting it to a couple of places to see what happens from there, so stay tuned!
  • I also recently released ‘Lost And Found’ from ‘Odin’s Eye’ as a free short story: it’s available now from Smashwords (in various ebook formats), Kobo, Apple iBooks, Barnes & Noble, and Amazon.

Thanks so much to everyone who has helped me this year by reading my books, reviewing them, or just spreading the word. It means so much to me and has truly made my year a great journey.
